Role Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full-time, on-site role based in La Junta, CO, responsible for overseeing all financial operations of Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. The CFO will lead financial planning and budgeting processes, monitor financial performance, and provide strategic guidance to support the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing financial reporting and analysis, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, overseeing revenue cycle and cash flow, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and healthcare finance requirements. The CFO will collaborate with executive leadership and department leaders to evaluate financial risks and opportunities, support decision-making, and optimize resource allocation. This role also includes managing finance staff, implementing internal controls, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and transparency.
Qualifications
- Strong finance and financial planning skills, including experience developing budgets and long-range financial strategies.
- Proficiency in financial statements and financial reporting, with the ability to interpret and present complex data to leadership and stakeholders.
- Well-developed analytical skills, with a track record of using data to guide decisions and solve problems in a healthcare or similar environment.
- Extensive experience in healthcare finance, hospital or health system operations, and familiarity with regulatory and reimbursement frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MHA) or professional certification (CPA, CMA) preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including managing teams, mentoring staff, and collaborating effectively with executive and clinical leaders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
