Chief Revenue Officer — Job Description
About the business
We are a founder-led UK education company that teaches people how to buy, grow and exit businesses.
Our model is simple and proven. Paid social advertising and webinars fill live and virtual events. At those events, a sales team converts attendees into high-ticket programmes priced between £15,000 and £30,000. We are now scaling hard, with an ambition to reach eight-figure annual revenue and expand internationally.
The role
The Chief Revenue Officer owns revenue from first click to cash in the bank. You are the bridge between marketing and sales, making sure the leads we buy turn into qualified event attendees, and those attendees turn into paying clients.
Today, marketing and sales are run as separate functions, with the founder connecting them. Your job is to take that on: one person accountable for the whole funnel, with the authority to fix any stage of it.
You will report directly to the founder. For your first four months you will work closely alongside them, learning how the business sells, and turning that into a documented sales and marketing operating manual. After that, you run it.
Key responsibilities
Own the numbers
- Own the revenue target and forecast it weekly, month by month.
- Track every funnel stage: cost per lead, cost per event ticket, show rate, qualified appointments, close rate, average order value and cash collected.
- Find the biggest leak in the funnel each week and fix it first.
Lead marketing performance
- Direct paid media, mainly Meta, with Google and others alongside, working with our media buyer to scale spend profitably.
- Brief and hold copywriters, designers and video editors to account for ads, landing pages, emails and webinars.
- Judge lead quality by what closes, not just by cost per lead, and feed sales insight back into targeting and messaging.
Lead sales performance
- Manage, coach and recruit our commission-based closers.
- Make sure each closer has a full diary of qualified appointments every day.
- Improve scripts, offers and follow-up so more attendees become clients.
- Be present at live events and drive the room-to-sale process.
Build the machine
- Make sure the CRM (GoHighLevel), tracking and attribution are accurate, so decisions rest on real data.
- Write and maintain the sales and marketing operating manual.
- Support new launches, including our webinar programme, a new AI product and international expansion.
What success looks like
We will agree targets with you in writing before you start. Your performance bonus will be tied to them.
First 30 days
- Attend events and sales calls, and learn the funnel from start to finish.
- Build a single weekly dashboard covering spend to cash.
- Present your own diagnosis: where the funnel leaks and what you would fix first.
Days 31–90
- Lower the cost per qualified event attendee and increase attendance.
- Improve the conversion rate from event attendee to mastermind client.
- Get every closer to a full daily diary of qualified appointments.
Months 4–12
- Complete the operating manual, so the funnel runs without the founder.
- Take full day-to-day ownership of marketing and sales performance.
- Deliver the monthly revenue targets set out in the growth plan.
What you'll bring
Essential
- A track record of owning a revenue number, with results you can show us.
- Senior experience across both marketing and sales, not just one of them.
- Hands-on paid social experience: you can read an ads dashboard and challenge a media buyer.
- Experience managing high-ticket or commission-based sales teams.
- Real comfort with numbers: funnels, unit economics and forecasts.
Highly desirable
- Experience in events, webinars, coaching or education.
- Experience with GoHighLevel or a similar CRM.
- Experience scaling a founder-led business.
Who you are
- You bring answers, not just questions, and form your own view quickly.
- You are motivated by upside and happy to have a large share of pay tied to results.
- You are energised by live events, weekends included when required.
