A newly established single family office in Charleston is looking for a CFO to serve as the principal's financial partner across personal wealth, tax, and philanthropy.
The principal is a successful fund manager who is building the family office from the ground up and wants the right person to stand up the financial infrastructure. You would work directly with the founder and his family on a daily basis with no layer between you and the decision maker.
What the role covers:
- Consolidated financial reporting, liquidity planning, and balance sheet management across all entities
- Personal financial administration including cash flow oversight and coordination across advisors
- Tax planning and compliance alongside external professionals spanning individual, trust, partnership, and charitable structures
- Philanthropic administration, governance, and financial controls
- Building scalable processes, systems, and internal controls for a sophisticated private wealth environment
- Serving as the primary point of contact across legal, tax, audit, and investment advisors
What we are looking for:
- 12+ years in a family office, private investment firm, multi family office, public accounting firm, or closely held business
- Working knowledge of individual and trust taxation, estate planning structures, and complex entity frameworks
- Experience supporting founders, principals, or privately held enterprises
- Comfortable operating at both the strategic level and in the details
- Sound judgment and discretion with confidential financial information
- CPA, MST, MBA, or comparable credentials preferred but not required
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Charleston based.
