Tecknuovo has grown quickly, and many of the processes, controls and ways of working that support our business have evolved organically alongside that growth. As we look ahead, we want to take a more deliberate approach to how our internal business operations work together, ensuring we have the right foundations to support our next stage of growth.
Our business operations remit extends beyond our core corporate functions of Legal, Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), IT, People and Finance. It also includes the operational infrastructure supporting our consultant community, quality assurance, frameworks and accreditations, business systems, suppliers, health and safety, and facilities.
While these areas are functioning, ownership and responsibilities have developed across different teams over time. This has created opportunities to improve how processes connect, clarify accountability, reduce dependencies and ensure operational activities sit in the right places.
We are looking for an experienced Business Operations Transformation Consultant to embed themselves in our business, develop a practical understanding of how our functions and teams operate, and help us build a clearer, simpler and more scalable approach.
This is a hands-on diagnostic and transformation engagement rather than an ongoing operational leadership position. You will work closely with our functional leaders and teams to understand how things work in practice, identify opportunities for improvement and actively support changes that strengthen our operational foundations.
We are not looking to centralise all operational activity, replace existing functional expertise or undertake a wholesale organisational redesign. Our priority is to strengthen the operational infrastructure connecting our teams while preserving the agility, pace and accountability that are important to how Tecknuovo operates.
Assess our current business operations: Embed yourself across our core functions, working directly with leaders and teams to understand their responsibilities, day-to-day activities, processes and operational challenges. Build a practical, end-to-end understanding of how work gets done, where responsibilities sit and how functions connect.
Review our operational infrastructure: Evaluate the processes and ownership supporting consultant workforce operations, including screening, onboarding and ongoing compliance; ISO and quality management; operational assurance; frameworks and accreditations; business systems and tooling; supplier contracts and renewals; insurance; health and safety; and office and facilities operations.
Identify operational gaps and opportunities: Examine where ownership is unclear or overlapping, where processes are fragmented or unnecessarily complex, and where manual activity, duplicated controls, ineffective hand-offs or key-person dependencies create inefficiency or risk. Distinguish between underlying issues and their symptoms to identify which areas genuinely require change.
Clarify ownership and accountability: Recommend how responsibilities and decision rights should be structured across specialist functional ownership, operational execution, governance, assurance, systems and tooling, technical and cyber security, and business-wide coordination. Ensure improvements strengthen accountability without unnecessarily centralising activity or changing established specialist ownership.
Improve cross-functional ways of working: Work alongside teams to simplify processes, strengthen communication and improve how information, decisions and responsibilities move between functions. Address gaps between policy, governance and operational execution while maintaining proportionate controls and oversight.
Shape a scalable future-state operating model: Develop pragmatic recommendations for how internal business operations should evolve as Tecknuovo grows. Consider organisational ownership, functional interfaces, governance and management forums, reporting, operational controls, systems, capability, capacity and organisational resilience.
Consider evolving technical and operational responsibilities: Assess how internal IT operations interact with wider technical and cyber security capability, identifying where clearer separation of responsibilities or accountability may be appropriate as these areas mature.
Assess systems and operational dependencies: Review how business systems, suppliers, recurring operational requirements and supporting controls are owned and managed. Identify opportunities for simplification, automation, consolidation and improved resilience.
Drive and support operational improvements: Take an active role in addressing identified gaps and inefficiencies, working alongside teams to simplify processes, clarify responsibilities, improve hand-offs and implement agreed changes. Balance the wider transformation objectives with practical, hands-on support where it will make the greatest difference.
Develop a prioritised transformation roadmap: Translate findings into a practical, phased implementation plan that distinguishes between immediate improvements and changes required as the business grows. Identify where accountability needs to evolve, where additional capability may eventually be required and which existing arrangements should be retained.
By the end of the engagement, you will have provided a clear view of our current operational landscape, including critical processes, systems, controls, dependencies and accountability. You will leave us with an agreed understanding of ownership and decision rights, recommendations for a simpler and more joined-up future-state model, and a prioritised roadmap covering processes, systems, governance, assurance, capability and organisational responsibilities, alongside tangible improvements already underway.
You are an experienced business operations or transformation professional who has previously reviewed, improved and helped shape the internal operations of a growing organisation. Your experience is likely to span operational transformation, business operations and organisational effectiveness, giving you the breadth to look across multiple functions rather than approaching challenges through a single specialist discipline.
You have led end-to-end operational reviews, bringing together an understanding of processes, organisational structures, systems, controls and accountability to identify opportunities for meaningful improvement. You are comfortable working across functions such as Legal/GRC, IT, People and Finance, and understand how their responsibilities and dependencies influence the effectiveness of wider business operations.
You bring strong process and organisational design experience, with the ability to distinguish between issues that require changes to structure or accountability and those that can be addressed through clearer processes, stronger coordination or better use of existing resources.
You understand the importance of operational assurance, quality management, governance and controls, but recognise that these need to be proportionate to the organisation. You can identify operational risks and resilience gaps without defaulting to additional layers of process or oversight.
You are equally comfortable stepping back to assess the bigger operational picture and getting involved in the detail of how things work. You take the time to understand the people, roles and processes behind each function, and are willing to work alongside teams to resolve challenges and put improvements into practice. You bring a practical, delivery-focused approach rather than operating purely in an advisory capacity.
You are confident working directly with senior leadership and established functional experts, asking the right questions, challenging constructively and building a clear understanding of how the business actually operates. You can navigate competing perspectives, make sound judgements about where accountability should sit and translate complex operational findings into straightforward recommendations.
You have experience developing and delivering practical implementation plans that consider organisational maturity, available capability and business priorities. Rather than producing a theoretical target operating model, you focus on changes that can realistically be implemented and sustained.
Experience supporting the growth or transformation of a technology, consulting or professional services organisation would be particularly valuable.
Most importantly, you bring the curiosity and judgement to understand why things work as they do, recognise what is already effective and identify where change will make a genuine difference. Your impact will be measured by the clarity, simplicity and scalability of the approach you leave behind, as well as the practical improvements you help deliver.
Your day might begin with a discussion with one of our functional leaders to understand how a particular operational process works, who is accountable for it and where it connects with other teams. You could be exploring how consultant onboarding and compliance activities move between functions, or reviewing how operational assurance requirements translate into day-to-day responsibilities.
You might then spend time working directly with colleagues across People, Finance, IT or Legal/GRC, getting underneath how their roles and processes operate in practice. This could involve mapping a cross-functional process, resolving an unclear hand-off, identifying where systems or controls overlap, or helping a team improve an existing way of working.
Later, you may meet with senior leadership to share emerging findings, test assumptions and challenge whether an issue requires a change in accountability, a simpler process or a different approach. You will balance the need for clearer operational ownership with the importance of preserving existing functional expertise and the agility of the business.
As the engagement progresses, you will balance shaping the future-state operating model with actively supporting operational improvements. This could mean working directly with teams to resolve unclear ownership, simplify a process, strengthen a control or establish a more effective way of working.
Throughout the engagement, your focus will be on understanding how Tecknuovo operates today, making practical improvements alongside our teams and leaving the business with both a clear direction for the future and stronger operational foundations already taking shape.
