Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer [CFO] is a key partner to the executive leadership team as well as the Board of Directors in the execution of the company’s strategic growth and achievement of financial goals. We are seeking a highly driven professional to refine and improve the finance/accounting infrastructure, implement operational and financial KPIs, take a direct approach in assisting the CEO with managing daily operations, and collaborate with the functional leaders on developing and executing strategic objectives to position the company for a successful exit.
Responsibilities
- Act as a key liaison for private equity sponsor
- Partner with the CEO on identifying trends, margins, and cost analysis to support proactive decision making
- Ensure that weekly flash/KPI dashboard is accurately updated
- Manage the finance and accounting function for the business
- Establish/enhance financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
- Manage the accounting team and oversee the monthly closing process
- Drive ERP implementation and integration across platforms
- Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of the annual capital and operating budget process in collaboration with other members of the executive team
- Deliver timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial reports
- Lead external audits
- Manage key third-party relationships
- Manage HR (payroll and health insurance) and IT functions
- Manage P&C and other insurance programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5+ years of audit at a national public accounting firm, through Manager level
- 3+ years as a controller/similar in the lower middle market
- Experience with field services or project-based businesses
- Willing/able to be on-site in Dallas, TX
Preferred
- Experience with percentage-of-completion/project-based accounting
- Master’s degree in accounting/MBA
- ERP implementation experience
- Experience developing KPIs, dashboards, cash flow forecasts for data capture
- Experience integrating add-on acquisitions
- Prior experience in a private equity sponsored environment/M&A
