Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Los Angeles, CA, Culver City area (On-site)
Job Term: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Target Start Date: Immediate
About Our Client
Our client is a premier, nationwide large-format visual production and experiential marketing partner celebrating more than 50 years of innovation. It serves major brands, arenas, and events across sports, entertainment, hospitality, and retail. From massive stadium takeovers and transit wraps to cutting-edge projection mapping and immersive LED experiences, it helps the world’s biggest names say what they want to say, big.
The company operates at the intersection of production, fabrication, and live events, delivering complex projects that combine labor, equipment, materials, logistics, and creative execution.
The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a hands-on, operationally minded Chief Financial Officer to drive the financial strategy and scalability of its fast-growing, multi-divisional business through the company’s next stage of development.
Reporting to the CEO and working alongside the President on the executive leadership team, the CFO will oversee all corporate financial operations, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), cash flow allocation, and operational accounting.
Core Mandate
Over the first 12 to 18 months, the CFO will focus on three primary objectives:
Improve the economics of the existing business. Develop visibility into profitability by project, customer, and business activity; identify opportunities involving pricing, labor, procurement, equipment utilization, inventory, overhead, and working capital; and work directly with operating leadership to translate those insights into measurable improvements.
Build a more scalable company. Establish the financial and operating metrics necessary to understand capacity, resource allocation, and incremental profitability; improve forecasting and planning; evaluate capital investments; and help management determine where and how the company can grow most profitably.
Increase enterprise value and transaction readiness. Work with the CEO and ownership to develop longer-term financial strategy, improve the quality and predictability of earnings, identify value-creation opportunities, and prepare the company for potential financing, recapitalization, strategic partnership, or other strategic transaction.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Lead and mentor the corporate finance, accounting, and controls teams across national regional offices.
- Direct the preparation and presentation of timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Oversee financing, banking relationships, capital structure, and liquidity strategies.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Design, implement, and maintain internal financial control systems to mitigate risk and protect assets.
- Manage corporate legal and tax compliance across state lines, corporate auditing processes, and vendor/client contract negotiations.
- Supervise financial software, reporting tools, and infrastructure to optimize efficiency between production facilities and creative studios.
Ideal Experience
Candidates should have 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 as a CFO, VP Finance, or divisional CFO. Prior CFO experience is preferred but not required.
The strongest candidates will have meaningful experience in a lower-middle-market business with operational complexity, ideally involving some combination of manufacturing, fabrication, equipment rental, construction/specialty contracting, industrial services, large-format printing, experiential or live-event production, or another project/job-costing environment.
Our client is particularly interested in candidates who have:
- Helped improve margins and operating efficiency in a complex business.
- Built meaningful job/customer profitability and KPI reporting.
- Managed businesses where labor, materials, equipment, and capacity utilization materially affect profitability.
- Helped a company scale from mid-eight-figure revenues into a significantly larger organization.
- Improved cash positioning and led data-driven capital allocation.
- Worked in a founder-owned, entrepreneurial, or private-equity-backed environment.
- Participated in an acquisition, recapitalization, or other strategic transaction.
- Demonstrated the ability to move comfortably between strategic decisions and detailed operational analysis.
Qualifications & Skills
- Leadership Style: Collaborative and communicative mentor who can confidently interact with external partners, banking institutions, and internal project managers.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with sophisticated enterprise financial management software, CRM integrations, and data modeling platforms.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is highly preferred.
What Our Client Offers
- Highly competitive executive salary, with a base range of $250,000 to $300,000, and performance-based incentives.
- Comprehensive health, vision, and dental benefits package.
- 401(k) retirement matching.
- A dynamic, highly creative work environment with an established, trusted brand.
This is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial finance executive who wants to have a direct and measurable impact on the performance and value of a business, not simply manage its finance department.
