PARTNER Executive is proud to be supporting Perth Children's Hospital Foundation in the search for its new Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary.
Perth Children's Hospital Foundation is a specialist children’s healthcare charity with a single beneficiary, Perth Children's Hospital and, after government, the largest funder of the hospital and the wider Child and Adolescent Health Service. Backed by a loyal donor base, major philanthropic partners and a strong events and corporate partnership program, the Foundation is one of the largest philanthropic organisations in WA, and its funding continues to grow year on year as it takes on landmark projects advancing children’s healthcare.
This is a landmark period for the Foundation. Sandcastles (Boodja Mia) in Swanbourne, Western Australia's first purpose-built children's hospice, is about to welcome its first families. Delivered by the Foundation in partnership with the Child and Adolescent Health Service, the $38.6 million hospice will provide around the clock specialist care, respite, end of life care and bereavement support for children with life limiting conditions and their families from across the state. Alongside Sandcastles, the Foundation continues to back major initiatives in childhood disease including cancer, rare and undiagnosed disease, rehabilitation and recovery and respiratory research, funding the latest equipment and technology, education and training initiatives and supporting positive patient experiences with a range of partners. The Foundation is now seeking a Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary to lead its corporate services function and partner with the CEO and Board through its next phase of growth.
The role
Reporting to the CEO, you will lead the Foundation's corporate services function, spanning Finance, HR, Digital Technology and Innovation, and Risk and Compliance, and serve as Company Secretary for all group entities. You will provide strategic financial leadership and commercial advice to the CEO and Board, drive business transformation, and make sure every dollar raised is managed with the transparency donors and partners expect.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ultimate accountability for financial strategy, sustainability, risk and compliance
- Company Secretary for all group entities, working closely with the Board and CEO on governance best practice
- Leading Finance, HR, Digital Technology and Innovation, and Risk and Compliance through a team of senior managers
- Driving process improvement and business transformation across the organisation
- Overseeing the Foundation's digital strategy, including automation, systems integration and IT infrastructure
- Providing strategic HR direction across workforce planning, talent and engagement
About you
You will be a CA or CPA qualified executive with senior leadership experience across finance and corporate services, together with Company Secretary or Board governance experience. You'll have a track record of leading business transformation and bring a strong understanding of governance and regulatory frameworks in the not-for-profit sector. Experience in a charity, foundation or health organisation will be highly regarded.
You'll be a value led leader who is comfortable with tough decisions, and able to engage with empathy and discretion in a sensitive environment that includes patients' families and donors.
Above all, you'll want your work to make a real difference to the lives of children and families across Western Australia.
