Chief Financial Officer
Midlands | £250,000 | Hybrid (3 days in office)
We are recruiting for a £200m turnover manufacturer in the Midlands that is growing through a deliberate buy-and-build strategy.
Our client is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to be the commercial and financial partner to the CEO and Board as the business scales through acquisition and organic growth.
This is a true leadership role. You will shape the investment case for each deal, lead the integration of acquired businesses, and build the finance function and reporting needed for a larger, more complex group.
What you will do
- Act as a key member of the executive team, shaping strategy and challenging decisions with commercial insight
- Lead the financial side of the M&A cycle: target screening, valuation, due diligence, deal structuring and negotiation
- Own post-acquisition integration, including systems, reporting, controls and synergy delivery
- Manage funding, banking relationships, covenants, cash flow and capital allocation
- Drive financial planning, forecasting and board and investor reporting
- Strengthen margin, working capital and cost performance across manufacturing sites
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team, scaling it as the group grows
- Oversee tax, treasury, audit, risk and compliance
What you will bring
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Previous experience as a CFO or Finance Director, ideally in manufacturing or industrial businesses of similar or larger scale
- A track record in buy-and-build or serial acquisition, including leading deals and integrating acquired businesses
- Experience in a private equity-backed or ambitious owner-managed environment is advantageous
- Strong commercial judgement, and the credibility to influence at Board level and with lenders, advisers and investors
- Hands-on leadership style, comfortable moving between strategy and detail
- Experience scaling finance systems and processes through growth
