About the role
We’re looking globally for a Chief Financial Officer, based in either London or the USA or willing to relocate, to lead ZYMIX’s finance function as our most senior finance executive, reporting directly to the CEO. You’ll be a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, shaping financial direction, supporting growth and ensuring disciplined stewardship of the business.
You’ll combine commercial judgement with hands-on financial leadership, taking overall responsibility for financial strategy, planning, reporting, treasury, controls and the development of a scalable finance team. You’ll translate complex financial information into clear decisions and build confidence with the board, investors and external advisers.
Key Responsibilities

- Set and lead the financial strategy in partnership with the CEO, aligning funding, investment and resource allocation with ZYMIX’s priorities and long-term growth.
- Own annual budgets, rolling forecasts, financial models and scenario planning; challenge assumptions and advise on commercial performance, unit economics and investment decisions.
- Lead financing and fundraising workstreams with the CEO, including investor materials, due diligence and financial negotiations; evaluate strategic partnerships and acquisition opportunities where relevant.
Financial Reporting, Governance & Readiness
- Take overall accountability for accurate, timely management and statutory reporting, financial consolidation and an effective month-end and year-end close.
- Provide the CEO and board with clear financial performance reports, forecasts and recommendations, explaining key risks, opportunities and variances.
- Lead relationships with auditors, tax advisers and other professional advisers; oversee accounting policies, audit delivery and applicable reporting and tax obligations across jurisdictions.
- Lead finance workstreams for public-company and IPO readiness where required, including reporting quality, disclosure preparation and financial controls, working with legal counsel and specialist advisers.
Cash Management, Controls & Risk
- Own cash-flow forecasting, liquidity, working capital and treasury; manage banking relationships and ensure clear visibility of funding needs and financial runway.
- Establish robust internal controls, approval processes and financial risk management; oversee tax planning and cross-border financial matters with qualified advisers, safeguarding company assets and reporting integrity.
Finance Leadership, Systems & Business Partnership
- Build, lead and develop the finance team, setting clear responsibilities and standards while strengthening systems, processes and financial data as the business grows.
- Partner with teams across product, operations and marketing to improve commercial decisions, cost discipline and financial understanding; foster a culture of integrity, accountability and delivery.
About you

- Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, audit and internal control experience, with the ability to oversee international operations and work effectively with specialist advisers.
- Experience managing cash flow, treasury and funding requirements, alongside the ability to support financing, investor engagement and financial due diligence.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams, strengthen financial systems and deliver reliable information in a fast-moving environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to advise and constructively challenge senior leaders, explain complex issues clearly and act with integrity.
