Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Director to lead our sales team within the cosmetic chemical ingredient sector. This role is critical in driving our growth strategy, expanding our market share, and strengthening relationships with key accounts in the beauty and personal care industry. The Sales Director will be responsible for overseeing the sales operations, developing and executing strategic sales plans, and ensuring that the team meets or exceeds sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sales Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company’s overall business goals.
- Identify new business opportunities and market trends within the cosmetic chemical ingredient industry.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to achieve individual and team sales targets.
- Market Development:
- Expand the company’s presence in existing markets and develop strategies for entering new markets.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, including major cosmetic brands, contract manufacturers, and formulators.
- Participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote the company’s products and services.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile clients, managing key accounts and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate and close complex sales agreements, contracts, and long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with the technical and R&D teams to provide clients with innovative solutions tailored to their needs.
- Sales Operations:
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee the development of sales forecasts, budgets, and reports for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Team Development:
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the team.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the cosmetic chemical ingredient industry or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulations, and the regulatory environment.
- Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel as needed (up to 50%).
