We are looking for a hands-on Chief Financial Officer to join a growing private healthcare practice in Honolulu, Hawaii. This leader will work closely with the owner to guide financial strategy, strengthen cash management, and improve overall business performance. The role combines executive-level planning with direct oversight of day-to-day finance operations, making it ideal for someone who is comfortable driving both strategic direction and operational execution. Due to the nature of the work and onsite requirements, preference will be given to Hawaii residents. Applicants should be able to reliably commute or reside within the region to meet business needs. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply by calling Noe at 808.452.0264.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast to provide clear visibility into short-term liquidity and support weekly cash management decisions.
• Direct the annual budget, periodic forecast updates, and broader financial planning activities to align resources with business goals.
• Oversee the monthly close process and deliver accurate financial statements, management reports, and performance dashboards for leadership review.
• Analyze profitability trends and recommend actions to improve margins across pricing, staffing, supply usage, vendor spend, and other operating costs.
• Lead negotiations with key suppliers and strengthen purchasing practices to improve value, control expenses, and support accountability.
• Manage relationships with banks and lending partners, including evaluating and advancing refinancing opportunities when beneficial.
• Partner with operational leaders to enhance revenue cycle results and ensure the financial structure supports new billing-related initiatives.
• Advise ownership on strategic planning, business priorities, and operational decisions by providing timely financial insight and analysis.
• Improve internal controls, reporting processes, and financial workflows to increase accuracy, consistency, and decision-making confidence.
• Prior experience serving as a Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Finance, or Controller within healthcare, physician practice management, ambulatory care, or another complex service-based setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in cash flow forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, and identifying opportunities for cost and margin improvement.
• Background working in an entrepreneurial or owner-directed organization where adaptability and hands-on leadership are essential.
• Practical proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and payroll-related reporting tools.
• Ability to move between high-level strategy and detailed financial execution in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be based in Honolulu, Hawaii, and available to work onsite three days per week.
