The Opportunity
An exceptional opportunity to join a private equity-backed, technology-enabled services platform at the beginning of an ambitious buy-and-build journey.
The business currently generates c.£2m EBITDA and has a clear investment thesis to scale to c.£10m EBITDA through a combination of organic growth, operational improvement and strategic acquisitions. With a strong UK presence already established, the next phase of growth will include both domestic and international M&A.
This is the first Group CFO appointment and a genuinely transformational role. The successful candidate will build the finance function, infrastructure and governance framework required to support a significantly larger and more complex organisation.
The CFO will work closely alongside an experienced PE CEO who has successfully delivered multiple exits, providing an outstanding environment for an ambitious finance leader looking to build value and develop their own CFO track record.
The Role
As CFO, you will be a key member of the executive leadership team, helping shape and execute the investment plan while ensuring the business is equipped for rapid scale.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Building the finance function and creating a scalable platform capable of supporting significant growth.
- Leading all financial planning, analysis, forecasting, cash management and reporting activities.
- Designing and implementing robust financial controls, governance processes and reporting frameworks.
- Developing board-quality KPI reporting and management information to drive decision-making.
- Supporting the origination, execution, diligence and integration of acquisitions.
- Leading post-acquisition integration, including systems, controls, processes and reporting harmonisation.
- Helping define and execute the international expansion strategy.
- Evaluating and implementing AI-enabled tools and automation across the finance function to improve efficiency, reporting quality and scalability.
- Partnering closely with investors and senior stakeholders on value creation initiatives.
- Driving systems and data transformation to establish a best-in-class finance infrastructure.
- Supporting future financing initiatives, refinancing activities and strategic transactions as the business scales.

- Experience of buy-and-build environments, M&A execution and acquisition integration.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence strategy beyond finance.
- Experience building teams, controls, systems and reporting frameworks in scaling businesses.
- A modern approach to finance, including the use of data, technology and AI to improve organisational performance.
- Credibility with investors, boards, lenders and external stakeholders.
- The willingness and capability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a growing organisation.
- Experience of international expansion, cross-border operations or overseas acquisitions would be advantageous.
