Primary Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy Development: Partner with the executive team to create a robust sales strategy tailored to the cannabis industry. Conduct market research, understand customer needs, and analyze competitors to uncover new opportunities and revenue streams.
- Sales Leadership: Inspire, mentor, and guide the sales team to surpass targets. Provide ongoing training and support to enhance skills and drive professional growth.
- Revenue Growth: Set ambitious sales goals, track performance metrics, and refine sales forecasting and planning processes to drive revenue.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
- Sales Process Optimization: Continuously enhance the sales process to boost productivity and streamline workflows. Identify opportunities for automation and implement tools to improve efficiency.
- Market Expansion: Explore and pursue opportunities to broaden market presence. Evaluate potential partnerships or collaborations to accelerate growth.
- Reporting and Analysis: Regularly review sales data and performance metrics to provide insights to the executive team. Present detailed sales reports to support informed decision-making.
- Sales Training and Development: Develop and execute training programs to increase the sales team's expertise. Promote a culture of continuous learning to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Budget Management: Work with the finance team to develop and manage the sales budget, ensuring responsible spending while achieving sales goals.
- Team Performance: Manage local Account Executives to meet or exceed revenue and new business targets. Oversee advertising sales activities and ensure effective use of sales resources.
- Sales Strategy Execution: Review and adjust sales territories, quotas, and compensation plans. Provide accurate sales forecasting and identify best practices to drive efficiency.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Over 5 years of executive-level experience in sales.
- Proven track record as a VP of Sales or in a similar senior role.
- Strong understanding of sales strategies, employee motivation techniques, and market analysis.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with a data-driven approach.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive for innovation and growth.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA or Masters in a related field) is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 50% and/or relocate within the Greater Los Angeles Area.
