Job Description
This role is based in San Francisco and Sunnyvale.

The Principal Deal Desk Strategist partners closely with Deal Desk leadership, Central Ops, GTM Ops teams, and other leaders to advise, manage, and drive priorities within GTM Operations. Acting as a strategic advisor to LinkedIn’s Field Sales team, this role oversees the Order to Cash (OTC) process, facilitating complex deal structures and customer requests. The strategist provides regular feedback to Sales Managers and Directors, ensuring efficiency within our processes and policies.
The role also builds connections across teams to drive growth, optimize processes, and scale the business. By collaborating with Sales and cross-functional leaders, the strategist helps execute business strategies, increase profitability, and create efficiencies, allowing Sales to focus on selling. This position plays a critical role in ensuring LinkedIn’s success and growth.
Responsibilities
- Enable the Deal Desk team to deliver the best possible service to our internal and external customers - across multiple markets and/or verticals.
- Ensure team KPIs are being met and continuously find ways to improve via systems innovations, process improvements or better use of our resources.
- Partner the XF leadership team in driving change, understanding market & team dynamics and proactively designing solutions to solve our biggest problems.
- Create a partnership with Sales and other XF leaders including Legal, Credit, Revenue to deliver effective and efficient solutions to customers while maintaining top-quality customer experience.
- Train, mentor and educate other members of the Deal Desk global team to enable them to be excellent partners to the Field and our customers.
- Serve as a point of escalation to the Field and other cross-functional leaders
- Serve as an expert advisor to internal teams on systems tools and the creation & execution of all deals, particularly of high value and complex deals.
- Serves as a subject matter expert, proactively sharing knowledge with Global team and XF leaders
- Use problem solving skills to logically structure ambiguous problems, conduct data-driven analysis, extrapolate key insights, and deliver recommendations
- Partner closely with Deal Desk leadership to drive business strategies, lead complex programs and present key insights and recommendations to senior business leaders
- Learn quickly, be agile and proactive, as well as assume ownership for broad tracks and global workstreams
- Keep a finger on the pulse of the business to ensure it is operating as successfully as possible, stepping in to help drive improvements as needed
- Gain an in-depth understanding of the Marketing business, with the ability to understand the big picture and drop into process level details as needed
- The role will be based within the US, with the ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in economics, engineering, math, statistics, physics, computer science or related field
- 4+ years of experience in management consulting, SaaS and/or Marketing, investment banking/private equity/venture capital, corporate strategy or sales operations experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Deal Desk, Pricing experience at SaaS and Marketing businesses
- Comfortable with data and ambiguity, and enjoys solving business problems through analysis and story-telling
- Experience using data analysis tools such as Excel
- Strong communication skills, including written and verbal communication, experience with senior level management
- Comfortable interacting one-to-one with individual technical contributors, senior leaders, as well as coaching teams.
- A love for change and an ability to thrive in a complex and fast-moving environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead meetings and guide cross-functional teams through decision-making processes
- Intellectually curious, strong emotional intelligence, resilient, passionate and humble
- Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous workstreams
- Experience working on or in global Enterprise businesses
- Proven track record of program management for large, cross-functional, strategic enterprise-wide programs

The pay range for this role is $102,000-$155,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
