The Manager of Sales Operations is a leadership role responsible for developing tools to support outside sales teams, optimize administrative processes to enhance sales productivity and manage a technical inside sales team. This role oversees all sale operations activities to drive sales efforts to enhance the businesses position with customers and to solidify the position of the business in the market.
What You Will Do At Graco
Sales Operations Strategy
- Create and define sales processes to remove roadblocks and obstacles among category sales, channel sales and distributor partners.
- Capture current sales environment, identifying opportunities to bridge gaps between and build partnerships among sales teams and regions.
- Manage global pricing and spec projects, ensuring accuracy and consistency amongst sales teams. Manage global contract activities with key accounts and channel partners, establishing opportunities for aftermarket and servicing partnerships.
Sales Tool Development and Analytics
- Develop tools to support outside sales, reduce administrative work.
- Leverage technology to streamline sales processes, improve efficiency, and enhance overall sales performance.
- Develop and manage sales performance metrics and dashboards to track progress, identify trends, and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Set and execute strategy for CRM and other sales enablement tools in partnership with corporate and divisional marketing teams.
- Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, tool effectiveness, and distributor/customer activities.
- Support the sales planning process by providing data-driven insights and recommendations to inform sales strategies and targets.
Customer Engagement and Management
- Manage technical inside sales team responsible for supporting key channel customers (MRO, Key Accounts). Key team activities include lead qualification, answering technical questions, pricing, and quotation assistance.
- Develop and execute strategies to effectively manage and grow relationships with targeted B growth customers, driving sales and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Analyzes customer and distributor feedback to refine sales strategies and improve processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with IT department serving as divisional voice of customer to define CRM strategy, development, and implementation.
- Work closely with outside sales and marketing to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with other departments to implement enhancements.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, manage and oversee recruitment for a team for inside sales and sales operations ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Drive team performance by setting clear goals, providing ongoing feedback, and facilitating professional growth opportunities.
- Establish, manage, and be accountable for the annual inside sales and sales operations budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment with organizational strategic objectives.
What You Will Bring To Graco
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in inside sales and sales operations or a related field
- Excellent leadership skills; 2+ years of team leadership experience preferred.
- Experience in developing tools and resources to support sales teams and reduce administrative tasks.
- Knowledge of CRM tools and related programs (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot, SalesLoft, Outreach, Salesforce Sales Engagement).
- Analytical mindset with the ability to establish standardized data analysis and reporting for leaders across the division and organization.
- Strong ability to manage channel and distributor relationships and drive sales growth with B customers.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in sales tools, CRM systems, and technology integration, and ability to set performance metrics and drive data-drive decisions to improve effectiveness.
- Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time, both domestic and international.
