Position Overview
In the role of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), you will be instrumental in spearheading revenue growth and optimizing profitability. You will oversee critical functions including Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Analytics, and Web Development, leading initiatives to refine our integrated sales and marketing strategies. This position is vital for fostering profitable growth, especially within public school systems, and calls for a collaborative leader with a talent for building partnerships and promoting teamwork.
This is an in-person role based at one of our office locations in Shelton, CT; Olathe, KS; or Monterey, CA, with significant travel to various locations and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with senior leadership to execute a divisional strategic plan aimed at driving business growth across diverse customer segments. Own the vision for continuous enhancements across sales, customer service, marketing, analytics, and web operations.
- Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Formulate and deploy a comprehensive sales strategy to amplify revenue across all channels, particularly in public school systems.
- Identify emerging growth opportunities and maintain a keen awareness of market trends and competitive landscapes.
- Lead the sales team in achieving customer acquisition, retention, and expansion targets.
- Establish performance metrics and compensation structures for the sales teams, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
- Promote innovative customer service approaches and leverage new technologies to enhance service delivery.
- Marketing Oversight:
- Offer strategic direction to the marketing team in support of sales objectives and to drive demand generation.
- Supervise the creation of marketing campaigns and materials that effectively position our products in the marketplace.
- Analyze market trends and customer insights to fine-tune marketing strategies and uncover new growth avenues.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to boost lead generation and customer engagement.
- Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Encourage collaboration between sales and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of revenue-driven initiatives.
- Act as a liaison among departments to enhance communication and share insights.
- Cultivate a culture centered around accountability, performance excellence, and continuous improvement within the organization.
- Represent the company publicly, forging and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and partners.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, sales, or a related discipline; an MBA or equivalent is preferred.
- A proven history of success in senior leadership positions with extensive experience in sales management and revenue generation within public school systems.
- Strong knowledge of AI, coupled with experience in leveraging technology to achieve revenue-driven outcomes.
- Comprehensive understanding of marketing principles and e-commerce fundamentals.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to transform market insights into actionable strategies.
- Superior communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of influencing and motivating cross-functional teams.
