Position Summary: As the Chief Sales Officer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our business by expanding our client base, building strong relationships, and ensuring the success of our career services brands. The CSO plays a central role in steering the company’s growth and market presence, requiring strong team leadership, strategic foresight, and adaptability.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and implement the company’s overarching sales strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market dynamics. Monitor performance metrics to measure success and adjust strategies as needed.
Revenue Growth: Set and achieve revenue targets by implementing effective sales strategies. Develop pricing strategies, forecast sales projections, and identify opportunities to optimize revenue streams.
Team Management and Development: Lead, coach, and mentor sales teams, providing direction on best practices, performance improvement, and career development. Build and maintain a high-performing sales culture.
Customer Relationship Management: Foster and maintain relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring satisfaction and retention. Lead customer acquisition strategies and work to enhance customer experience through the sales journey.
Build and Develop Sales and Account Management Framework: Establish a robust sales and account management framework and structure to support sustainable growth; recruit, train, and empower a high-performance sales team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, motivation, and excellence.
Sales Operations Oversight: Collaborate with sales operations to streamline processes, ensure data accuracy, and implement tools and technologies that improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
Market Research and Competitor Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitors, and new opportunities. Use insights to inform strategic decisions, product positioning, and market entry strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other executives, including the Managing Directors, to ensure sales strategies align with company objectives.
Sales Forecasting and Budgeting: Oversee sales forecasting and budgeting processes to ensure accurate financial projections. Allocate resources to maximize sales team productivity and return on investment.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Use analytics and reporting to make informed decisions. Track KPIs, such as conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, and retention rates, to measure and improve sales performance.
Compliance and Ethics: Ensure sales practices comply with legal regulations and ethical standards, promoting a fair and transparent sales environment.
Innovation and Change Management: Lead the adoption of new sales methodologies, tools, and technologies, driving change to keep the organization competitive and agile in a fast-evolving market.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- 15+ years of experience in a professional services sales environment
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating high-performing sales and account management teams.
- Experience developing formalized sales and account management teams and programs from the ground up
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
