Purpose And Summary Statement
Under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), assumes overall responsibility for capital and financing activities, investment management, accounting, internal audit, tax functions, financial analysis, information technology, and monitoring retirement plan performance. Ensures GROWMARK has a sound corporate risk management system, including safety and environmental services. Serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and participates in GROWMARK Board meetings.
SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP
Supervises, leads, and develops the Corporate Treasurer, Controller; Director of Internal Audit; Director of Process and Tech Enablement; Director of Enterprise Systems; Director of External Technology Portfolio; and the Director of Wholesale Technology Portfolio.
Essential Job Functions
Engages in corporate decision-making and strategic planning as a member of ELT. Serves as an officer of the corporation. Reports operating results to the CEO and Board of Directors on a regular basis.
Evaluates, arranges, and negotiates all financing to meet the corporate needs and objectives of GROWMARK, Inc. and its subsidiaries. This involves developing and maintaining a thorough knowledge of financial markets and financial institutions, while working with staff to build and maintain relationships with financial institutions through professional image, activities, and communications.
Oversees consolidated accounts, receipts and disbursements, ordering and billing, tax compliance and strategy, and direction over the accounting systems and internal control functions for the corporation and its subsidiaries.
Provides strategic and operational information technology direction to support system operations; drives and implements strategies that leverage technology; partners closely with senior operation leaders to ensure that information technology is aligned with organizational goals, in addition to the prioritization and monetization of digital strategies.
Ensures compliance with loan and collateral covenants and Corporate Finance Policy. Recommends policies relating to assigned activities and directs execution upon approval.
Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the integrity and effectiveness of a corporate risk management system to identify, assess, monitor, report, control, and finance risk from all business operations.
Leads FS Financial Services, LLC, FS Risk Management Services, FS Preferred Insurance Company, FS Benefits Insurance Company, and NewTech Engineering and Environmental, LLC.
Responsible for annual budgets, regulatory compliance and reporting, and risk management reporting to respective board of directors.
Champions engagement and adoption of an enterprise-level marketing framework and support for FS Brand development.
Actively collaborates with the Director of Innovation and other System leaders on strategic discussions, studies, and pilot projects related to innovation; Provides ongoing support and promotion of innovative practices, ideas, and technologies within the team.
Supports senior management and the Board of Directors with a deep knowledge of the agriculture industry, general economy, financial markets, and risks associated with business operations. Serves on the fiduciary committees for GROWMARK System-sponsored benefit plans and as the corporation’s representative on various boards of directors, professional committees, and advisory boards as directed.
Participates in Quarterly Shareholder updates, leads assigned all-employee meetings, and participates in GROWMARK Board meetings.
Other Job Functions
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures as they apply.

Requirements
Normally, the position requires a bachelor's degree in Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent, plus at least 7-12 years of related experience to demonstrate the ability to provide finance and risk management leadership to the GROWMARK System.
Prefer Master’s of Business Administration or other advanced degree in business-related area.
Understanding and experience with technology and enterprise resource planning systems; accounting/finance-related areas including corporate and member financing, tax strategy, cash flow/working capital, investments, financial statements, and internal controls; employee health and welfare plans, strategic planning, program execution, budgeting, and communications.
Deep knowledge of company business operations, how risk is created, and tools/practices to manage risk.
Knowledge of insurance coverages and markets, safety compliance, environmental issues and regulations, credit administration, and knowledge of the GROWMARK System, including member cooperative and subsidiary company operations.
Proven supervisory and leadership skills, including staffing, coaching, performance evaluation, etc., and the ability to achieve results through others.
Proven professional communication, interpersonal, persuasion, and customer service skills.
Demonstrated planning, organization, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Proven team-building skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Proven computer skills and the ability to use technology to enhance business processes.
Demonstrated GROWMARK core competencies, including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision-making, and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport and can travel domestically, internationally, independently, and overnight when needed.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures as well as additional training related to the requirements of the position.
