Overview Of The Role
This position will be responsible for leading and owning the relationship with all of Woodstream’s national and regional Distribution customers. Additional responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and achieving sales targets.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Own and lead customer relationships with all Woodstream national and regional customers within the Distribution channel (e.g. Orgill, Bradley Caldwell, BFG, etc.,)
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with an array of customer ecosystem partners.
- Develop goals and strategies for account base that complement our brand missions, strategies, tactics (e.g. customer / channel promotional and/or marketing programs)
- Develop customer & channel action plans that will meet the goals of the organization in line with key corporate programs and initiatives
- Own and build account revenue and gross margin in line with designated annual targets
- Identify new business and whitespace opportunities to grow Woodstream’s in-market POS and revenue
- Build close relationships between Woodstream and customers - horizontally across many functions and vertically up to senior management and down to the field level.
- Lead and attend customer lines reviews, attend customer meetings, events, trade shows and support customer sales teams with ad-hoc training on new products.
- Work closely with your cross functional team members, fostering a culture geared towards achievement and collaborative growth that actively helps solves customer and/or business challenges
- Leverage available data and insights to problem solve regularly – developing effective selling stories for Woodstream products that can meet the objectives of the customer and company.
- Maintain accurate customer records, including but not limited to product listings, costs, MSRP’s dealer promotional pricing and programs
- Manage and own forecasting, annual budget planning – identify additional opportunities to drive incremental sales revenue or cost reduction measures
- Measure actual results against goals including POS and analyze for optimization and improvement.
- Liaise with Customer Service and Sales Operations team to effective and timely resolve any customer specific issues (e.g. deductions, fines, credit/deduction problems, order management delays)
- Performs other duties as assigned by direct manager &/or Woodstream Leadership Team
Successful Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Economics or related subject, and/or commensurate industry experience
- Experience with Co-Operative, Hardware, or Distribution customers / channels
- 5+ years’ sales experience in consumer products goods or services
- Strong Computer literacy essential (e.g. Microsoft Office platforms incl. PowerBI)
- Strong organizational, communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and driven, results-oriented nature with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Agility and aptitude for problem solving/quick learning
