Job Purpose

Glacier FarmMedia (“GFM”) is a dynamic company in the Canadian agriculture industry that connects with farmers through a variety of regional and specialty media franchises, a listings marketplace for the sale of farm equipment, leading industry events like Ag in Motion and Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show and customized offerings for Weather and Market analysis and insights.

This role is a people leader in the organization. They will be responsible for their own work and the work completed by people who report to them. As a people manager and as a leader in the organization, this role is responsible for business results achieved through the leadership of a team. In this role, reporting directly to the Director of Sales Operations and Customer Experience, the primary responsibility is to fulfill all the operational needs of advertising clients at GFM.

Duties and responsibilities

Accountable for leading people and supporting their on-the-job development through the completion of each step of the annual goal setting program. This includes the SLIME feedback, the annual Objective and Key Results, establishing priorities through quarterly initiatives and providing meaningful feedback and growth opportunities for staff.
Responsible to work with the Director to establish and implement sales processes to help sales reps create accurate pricing and proposals in Naviga, to ensure accurate orders are entered and fulfilled in Naviga, to manage product inventory and scheduling and to generate custom order quotes for custom publishing.
Responsible for leadership and support for employees while actively managing employee performance in a dynamic and changing work environment.
Responsible for scheduling, supervising and assigning work to the Ad Sales Coordinator team to ensure that deadlines for print advertising are met.
Works collaboratively with the Digital Media Network and Campaign Lead, the Customer Experience Manager and the Circulation Manager as a Sales Operations Team to find collaborative ways to integrate the print and digital operations for an integrated experience for advertising customers and farmers.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues in production, event management and marketing and communications on initiatives that help the business operate in an integrated way.
Be a business leader in projects that help find alignment between all the products that exist at GFM.
Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Post-Secondary education in business and related subjects or on-the-job work experience in business operations and sales.
Background in sales with direct customer experience or in a sales operations function.
Knowledge of the media industry and publishing (print and digital) and the agriculture industry is considered an asset.
Proficient in learning technology and software systems, particularly for establishing operational processes accurate order entry and inventory management.
Strategic thinker with the capability to anticipate risks and problem solve.
Proven track record in delivering products and services to meet the needs of customers.
Ability to meet and exceed milestones and deadlines for operational projects.
Excellent communication skills with a desire to foster collaboration among cross-functional teams

Working Conditions

Remote
This is a position that is exempt from claiming overtime. The role is trusted with substantial control over their hours to generate the results required by this job description. This role is expected to work the hours necessary to achieve the results compensated for by the annual salary.
Some travel is required including travel to farm show events. The nature of working in the media and events industry means certain times of year can require some weekend work and longer hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
