Position Summary: The CFO will oversee all financial aspects of the organization, providing strategic leadership and guidance to ensure financial health and compliance. This includes strategic financial planning, management of financial risks, financial record-keeping, statistical reports for management, stakeholders and/or Board, audit activities, and financial reporting. This role requires a deep understanding of financial planning, analysis, reporting, and risk management.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement financial strategies to support organization goals.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
Collaborate with leadership to guide decision-making and investment opportunities.
Lead the finance department, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
Communicate financial insights and recommendations to management, the council and stakeholders.
Oversee general and grant accounting, reconciliation, regulatory reporting, and financial reporting functions.
Assist in the preparation of monthly/month end and annual financial statements and procedures in accordance with Governmental GAAP regulations.
Oversee monthly journal entries for all entities.
Ensure balance sheet and income statement accounts are structured correctly with account type and details.
Track funds for grants, billing and report on how funds are utilized.
Responsible for oversight of all daily cash accounting including reconciliation of bank statements.
Responsible for filing various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for all entities to the Gaming Authority, Council and stakeholders.
Review and make recommendations to improve financial report systems, disbursement, AR, AP, cash receipts and procedures.
Ad hoc support for any troubleshooting of systems managed by Finance.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
Master’s degree in accounting or finance preferred, CPA is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of previous hands-on accounting, financial reporting and analysis experience. 5 years of progressive management experience in finance or accounting.
Relevant understanding and experience with US Governmental GAAP.

Attention to detail, strong analytical, organization and communication skills, and solid record-keeping are a must.
Ability to successfully work on a range of assignments and prioritize evolving tasks.
Ability to maintain a time efficient process of gathering/incorporating feedback from many authority sources.
Consistently produce high-quality, accurate, and user-friendly reports, updates, and presentations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $155,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
