Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client, a faith-based non-profit institution located in California, has a confidential search for a visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. This position is a confidential search and requires a dynamic individual who can serve as a strategic partner to the President/CEO. The CFO will lead financial operations, drive innovation, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization while advancing its mission and values. This role focuses on strategic financial stewardship, operational excellence, and leveraging cutting-edge technologies to support institutional growth and fiscal integrity. Location is North Orange County, CA

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the President/CEO on master planning, innovative financial strategies, and long-term planning, including a 5-year financial roadmap.
Financial Management: Hands-on oversight of budgeting, forecasting, GAAP compliance, financial reporting, and audits, while maintaining key banking and regulatory relationships.
Operational Excellence: Drive efficiency, identify risks, and optimize operations using AI-driven tools, automation, and data analytics.
Service-Minded Team Leadership: Hands-on supervising the Business Office, On-site Store, HR, Facilities, and Safety teams, ensuring alignment with the mission and operational success.
Mission Alignment: Steward resources to support faith-based values, promote transparency, and collaborate on fundraising and tuition assistance strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
MBA or CPA - Preferred
10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, audits, and strategic planning.
Advanced proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, QuickBooks) and leveraging technology for financial decision-making and automation.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Passion for serving in a faith-based non-profit institution setting.

Preferred Skills

Experience implementing AI-driven financial tools or ERP systems.
Strong track record of operational innovation and cost management.

Requirements

Certifications: CPA preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.

Monday through Friday, first shift.

Benefits

In addition to a rewarding career with a meaningful mission, this position offers a competitive salary ranging from $140,000 to $170,000 annually. The role is a supervisory position.
