University at Buffalo Pathologists, Inc. is looking for a dynamic Chief Financial Officer to lead the group’s financial strategy and operations.

The role consists of monthly and quarterly accounting, budgeting, reimbursements, contract negotiations, and managing practice operations. The CFO works closely with the President, Board of Directors, practice’s physicians, pathology assistants, and partnering hospital leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and present quarterly financial statements. Prepare internal monthly financial statements
Develop annual budget. Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and budget variances
Facilitate 990 and 5500 filings
Partake in external audits
Process payroll and check disbursements
Oversee billing management with external vendor
Actively participate in contract and payer negotiations
Oversee recruitment efforts and onboarding
Coordinate Pathologist’s schedule assignments and specimen/case distribution

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance preferred
MBA strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years in healthcare finance experience
Prior experience in a finance leadership role
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Self-driven, able to work independently and problem solve
