Position Summary

South Texas Truck Centers is seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. The CFO will serve as a key business partner to the CEO, helping to shape and execute the company’s growth strategy, optimize financial performance, and ensure operational excellence across all divisions. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep financial expertise, strong business acumen, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Partnership

Collaborate closely with the CEO to develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive growth, profitability, and long-term value.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making across operations, sales, service, and parts.
Act as a thought partner in evaluating new business opportunities, partnerships, and capital investments.
Model and support acquisition opportunities across a variety of industries.

Financial Management & Reporting

Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to support strategic goals and operational efficiency.

Operational Excellence

Partner with department heads to improve financial performance, cost control, and margin enhancement.
Implement and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Drive automation and system improvements to streamline financial processes and reporting.

Risk Management & Compliance

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, tax filings, and audit standards.
Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and financial institutions.
Monitor and mitigate financial risks, including credit, liquidity, and operational risks.

Team Leadership

Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in automotive, trucking, or industrial services.
Proven track record as a strategic partner to senior leadership.
Strong understanding of dealership operations, inventory management, and service profitability.
Experience with ERP systems and financial analytics tools.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
