Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends

Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Division for Information Resources. This includes managing budgets, financial planning, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, while also working to support department's mission and strategic goals. Directs, coordinates, implements, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of projects within area of assigned responsibility.

Statement Of Duties And Responsibilities

Serve as a member of the Vice President for Information Resources leadership team and plays a key role in divisional planning, resource allocation, professional development, continuous quality improvement and the attainment of divisional goals and objectives.

Advises the Vice President for Information Resources and divisional leadership on all phases of budget development, preparation, monitoring and management. Supports strategic planning through expenditure analysis and future budget projections.

Promotes organization policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

Oversees the communication of policy, program, and operational changes through directives to departmental supervisors.

Coordinates interdepartmental activities to promote operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness including short and long-range plans, and capital outlay (budget) requirements and documentation for assigned area(s).

Establishes and implements fiscal procedures to support internal controls across budgeting, asset management, expense authorization, and account reconciliation.

Collaborates in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance the efficiency of business transaction processes across the division, with a focus on standardizing and streamlining business transaction processes including travel authorizations and reimbursements, non-travel expense reimbursements, purchase orders, non-PO vouchers, vendor setup, and procurement card processing, the Director of Business Operations will work to achieve a higher level of productivity and financial stewardship.

Oversees the administration of contract processes from initiation to completion, maintaining accurate records, monitoring timelines, and ensuring adherence to terms and conditions.

Understands department’s role in accomplishing the University’s mission.

Compiles and submits reports as required by management, state, local, and federal regulatory agencies.

Participates in various committees, professional training, industry conferences, and conventions.

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's objectives, policies and applicable laws.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting

and

Experience: Five years of related experience and/or training in the essential duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Occasional travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:Masters preferred.
