Top US law firm is seeking an experienced CFO with 5- 10 years in a law firm to join their NY office.

CPA/CMA and significant experience in law firm finance/accounting is required.

Experience with law firm financial systems (3E, Aderant, or equivalent)

This executive-level role is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, billing and collections, cash management, financial reporting, and partner compensation support. The CFO will serve as a key advisor to firm leadership, providing insight into profitability, matter economics, pricing strategy, and overall financial performance.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience within a law firm environment, including hands-on knowledge of time and billing systems (such as 3E, Aderant, or similar), partnership structures, and the financial complexities of client-driven revenue models. This individual must be both strategic and operationally strong, capable of leading teams while also engaging directly with complex financial analysis.

Requirements:

Active CPA license (required)
Significant experience in law firm finance/accounting (required)
Senior leadership experience in FP&A, accounting, or finance operations
Strong understanding of law firm billing, collections, and partner compensation models
Experience with law firm financial systems (3E, Aderant, or equivalent)
Proven ability to partner with executive leadership on strategy and financial planning
