About Zaya:

Zaya Care is a venture-backed startup on a mission to establish a new standard of preventive and restorative health. Independent specialty practices are where patients actually get better, yet they've always been underserved by the system built around them. Zaya changes that by giving practices the infrastructure to focus on care while we handle everything else, building toward a world where preventive and restorative care is coordinated, measurable, and accessible.

At Zaya, our team is action-oriented, egoless, and highly communicative, with a deep commitment to our mission and our customers. We’re a small team, and each of us plays a significant role. Everything you do will have an impact on the company.

About the role:

As the BizOps Lead at Zaya, you'll be the operational backbone of the company, keeping the people, processes, and numbers running smoothly. This is a broad, hands-on role that spans HR operations, finance, multi-state legal and compliance buildout, practice payouts, and reporting. You'll work closely with leadership across the company and will be looked to as the person who keeps everything running effectively. If you're energized by variety and comfortable moving between spreadsheets and people conversations in the same day, we'd love to meet you.

What you’ll do:

Finance & Operations

Oversee finance operations between Zaya Care and our medical PCs, including practice payouts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Support leadership with recurring reporting and KPI tracking
Oversee all tax and compliance topics across our several entities
Keep a pulse on the business and its trajectory to proactively identify where things will break, building scalable processes to get ahead of it

Special Projects

Lead special projects, including overseeing our MSO / PC operations to help us enter new states and remain compliant in existing ones
Own the most complex cross-functional issues, serving as the escalation point when things stall
Dig into data to answer open business questions, surface insights, and turn analysis into clear recommendations

People & Culture

Own the interviewing and hiring logistics, coordinating with hiring managers to keep candidates moving through the pipeline
Run onboarding and offboarding, ensuring new hires have what they need on day one and departures are handled smoothly and compliantly
Support employee experience and culture initiatives, including team events, onboarding rituals, and company-wide moments
Maintain and evolve HR policies and the employee handbook as the company grows
Manage IT and vendor operations, including tool procurement, access, and renewals

About you:

5+ years of experience in a high-performance environment such as investment banking, management consulting, a public tech company, or a venture-backed startup
At least 1 year of experience working in the US healthcare industry, with strong preference for candidates who have worked in MSO / PC operations
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams (people, finance, admin, compliance) without dropping the ball
Comfortable with numbers: you can build and maintain accurate financial models, reporting, payout calculations, and KPI dashboards
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work directly with employees on sensitive HR topics
Discreet and trustworthy: you'll regularly handle confidential HR, financial, and compliance information
You operate with little direction and can make assumptions and decisions to help move things forward independently
Authorized to work in the US. Strong preference for candidates based in New York

Benefits and compensation:

Competitive salary ($130-$160K), equity and growth opportunities
Medical, dental and vision insurance
Remote-first with in-person meetups and paid travel for company onsites
Unlimited PTO and a company-wide winter holiday week
Early-stage impact: join at Seed and help shape the company from the ground up

Our values:

Move with urgency and focus: We act quickly and prioritize what matters most. Speed is important, but never at the cost of clarity or impact.
Own the outcome, start to finish: You are accountable for delivering results. If something’s off track, raise it early and drive it to resolution.
Be the expert in your craft: Strive to deeply understand your domain. Aim to be the person others turn to for insight, execution, and leadership.
Work as one aligned team: We collaborate closely, communicate openly, and support each other. Success is shared, not siloed.
Feedback fuels excellence: If something’s unclear, off-track, or going well - say it early and with care. We name issues before they fester, assume good intent, and stay open when feedback comes our way. It’s how we grow, improve and build a culture of trust.
Build for continuity: Set up your work so the team can succeed even if you're out. Strong systems don’t rely on one person. They create long-term clarity, consistency, and impact.
