About the company

NODI Energy is a Y Combinator-backed energy tech company building the physical layer of the distributed grid. Our first product is a modular plug-in battery that ships directly to customers, deploys in minutes, and requires no electrician, rewiring, or planning approval. NODI starts from a simple belief: the grid crisis will not be solved by software alone. It requires building in atoms — hardware that can be manufactured, shipped, plugged in, controlled, and aggregated into real dispatchable capacity. We begin with renters, homes, and SMEs locked out of traditional storage, then turn every deployed unit into part of a virtual power network. Tesla Powerwall installs a battery in a house. NODI builds grid capacity from the wall socket up.

The role

Work directly alongside both co-founders as a core member of the leadership team
Own everything outside core product and fundraising
Build from zero to one: there's no playbook to inherit, you'll write it

What you'll own

Pilot deployments: plan, coordinate and deliver hardware deployments end to end, from site readiness to go-live and handover
Customer relationships: be the main point of contact after signature, keep pilots on track and turn early customers into long-term accounts
Partnerships: manage installer, hardware and channel partners, including scoping, contracting support and day-to-day coordination
Internal systems: design and run the tools, processes and documentation the company operates on, built to scale beyond the founding team
Operational decisions: make the many calls on vendors, logistics, timelines and priorities that decide whether a hardware startup compounds or stalls
Founder leverage: take work off the founders' plates so they can focus on product and fundraising

What we're looking for

Operator DNA above all: you build systems, finish what you start and thrive in ambiguity
Experience as employee #1–5 at a startup, or top-tier consulting experience where you learned to structure chaos and now want to apply it to something you own
Comfortable switching between strategy and execution in the same day
Clear written and verbal communicator with customers, partners and founders
High ownership: you see a gap and close it without waiting to be asked

Nice to have

Background in energy or climate (a plus, not a requirement)
Experience with hardware, field deployments or physical operations

Why join

Founding-team role with real scope and direct access to the founders
Product already in the field with paying customers, so the work is scaling, not guessing
Shape the company's operations, culture and systems from day one
