This is a hands-on executive role requiring strong sales leadership, disciplined operating management, sound judgment, and the ability to build accountability across a complex, multi-brand education company.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the leaders and functions responsible for Sales, Marketing, Business Development, PD Contracting, State Offices, Marzano Resources Sales, and Marzano Resources Marketing.
Create and execute an integrated revenue plan that aligns sales capacity, marketing investment, lead generation, contracting, customer acquisition, renewals, and expansion.
Establish a disciplined operating cadence for prospecting, pipeline reviews, forecasting, account planning, renewals, campaign performance, and individual and team accountability.
Improve new-customer acquisition, lead conversion, win rates, sales productivity, customer retention, cross-selling, and strategic-account growth.
Ensure Salesforce and related systems provide timely, accurate information for pipeline management, forecasting, customer visibility, and executive decision-making.
Translate company growth priorities into executable go-to-market plans with defined audiences, value propositions, sales plays, campaigns, owners, milestones, and revenue expectations.
Align Solution Tree and Marzano Resources sales and marketing efforts while preserving the distinct value, customer relationships, and market position of each brand.
Partner with Professional Development, Events, Press, EdTech, Finance, and Operations to align demand, pricing, capacity, delivery, customer experience, and financial performance.
Develop and retain strong revenue leaders and teams through effective recruiting, onboarding, coaching, compensation alignment, succession planning, and performance management.
Provide the CEO and senior leadership with concise, fact-based reporting on revenue performance, forecast, market opportunities, risks, and required interventions.

Measures of Success

Achievement of profitable revenue, contracted-sales, and growth targets.
Improved pipeline coverage, conversion, forecast accuracy, renewal and expansion rates, marketing contribution, and sales productivity.
Measurable revenue from priority growth initiatives, strategic markets, state offices, and both Solution Tree and Marzano Resources.
An aligned, professional, accountable revenue organization with strong leadership and consistent execution.

Qualifications

Substantial senior leadership experience with direct revenue ownership and a demonstrated record of profitable growth in a complex sales and marketing environment.
Experience leading multiple revenue functions, including sales, marketing, business development, contracting or account management, and geographically distributed teams.
Strong command of pipeline management, forecasting, CRM discipline, marketing performance, sales analytics, compensation, territory design, and performance management.
Proven ability to lead complex, consultative sales involving multiple stakeholders and long decision cycles. Experience in K–12 education, professional services, publishing, or education technology is strongly preferred.
Strong financial acumen and the ability to connect revenue decisions to margin, capacity, revenue recognition, and enterprise performance.
Exceptional executive communication, judgment, collaboration, and change-leadership skills.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Remote Work Environment and Personal Obligation Management
As a remote-first company, we are committed to providing our team members with the flexibility to work from anywhere. However, to maintain our standards of excellence and ensure uninterrupted productivity, we have specific expectations regarding the remote work environment.
Dedicated Workspace: Employees are expected to establish a dedicated, quiet workspace that is free of distractions. This environment should be conducive to professional activities and mirror the focus and privacy one would expect in an in-office setting.

Personal Obligations: While we recognize the challenges of balancing professional responsibilities with personal obligations, including childcare, we rely on our team members to manage these aspects effectively during work hours. It is essential that personal obligations do not impede work commitments. Employees are responsible for arranging appropriate care or support to ensure they can dedicate their full attention to their work tasks without interruption.

We believe these practices are key to fostering a productive and respectful remote working culture, where every team member can contribute their best work. We evaluate candidates based on a holistic view of their qualifications, including but not limited to their skills, experience, and education. Our goal is to offer a competitive compensation package that reflects the value we believe each employee brings to our team. The final salary for the position will be determined after a thorough evaluation of the successful candidate's relevant qualifications in relation to our compensation structure, which is designed to reward contributions and performance.
