National Sales Director

The National Sales Director will play a critical role in executing the national sales strategy for the company’s retail and foodservice business. This position reports to the CEO and will directly manage key accounts, develop new business, expand national distribution, and increase total portfolio profitability via customer and channel analyses.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate is a sales professional with a background in category management with the ability to influence key customers. Proven experience applying data-driven negotiation, market intelligence, and consumer insights to build relationships, and encourage collaboration across sales, operations, customer service, and logistics teams. Experience managing a diverse bakery product portfolio with the ability to exercise agility while making deliberate decisions relating to trade spend and promotions.

5+ years in a national account management capacity at a mid-sized food or beverage business with national distribution.
Experience with branded and private-label bakery products required.
Track record of incremental sales and margin growth.
Experience collaborating with a high-performing cross-functional team of Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Logistics professionals.
Team player who is confident in their ability yet humble in their approach to driving the team to exceed their goals. Ability to engage a team through shared successes and learn from their failures.
Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
Bachelor's degree in Business, or related required.
