The Well Balanced Paw is a pet wellness shop and grocery located in historic downtown Staunton, VA. We specialize in holistic pet nutrition, whole foods, and wellness products to support happier, healthier pets. We're a small, passionate team looking for someone who’s excited to help us grow and keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.

Job Summary:
We're seeking a highly organized and proactive Operations Assistant to support the daily operations of our shop. This is a part-time role with potential to transition into a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

Assist the owner/manager with daily tasks and shop operations
Keep the shop organized and ensure systems are maintained
Help improve and streamline business processes
Organize and file physical and digital documents
Schedule meetings and information sessions
Order inventory and supplies
Update order forms, spreadsheets, and business reports
Communicate with customers and vendors professionally
May occasionally need to work in a customer service capacity as needed

Qualifications:

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable with cloud-based tools (e.g., Google Drive, spreadsheets)
Prior experience in administrative or operational roles preferred
Interest in pets and wellness is a plus

Compensation: -$15-$17 per hour depending on experience. We also have a generous employee discount program
