Job Description:
Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Chief Financial Officer to join our startup. The CFO will play a critical role in shaping the financial future of the company, from securing early-stage funding to managing cash flow and building a scalable financial infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on and resourceful individual with a passion for startups and a desire to make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Modeling & Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models, including projections for revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including market analysis, competitive analysis, and customer lifetime value (CLTV) analysis.
- Fundraising & Investor Relations:
- Lead fundraising efforts, including preparing pitch decks, investor presentations, and financial projections for potential investors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with investors and advisors.
- Manage investor communications and reporting requirements.
- Financial Operations:
- Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, bookkeeping, and treasury management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Manage cash flow and optimize capital allocation.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial systems.
- Strategic Planning & Decision Making:
- Provide strategic financial advice to the leadership team.
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and risks.
- Support key business decisions related to pricing, product development, and go-to-market strategy.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship:
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team as the company grows.
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, with a strong preference for experience in a high-growth startup environment.
- Proven experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and fundraising.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ambiguous environment.
- Resourceful and entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to contribute to the success of a startup.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, QuickBooks).
- Can work autonomously. You will be the main person for the finance department, currently there won’t be a team.
