Position Summary:
The main responsibility of this position is to direct and oversee the financial activities of the organization, direct and prepare current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts projecting future financial needs and direction. Prepares and or oversees grant budgets, grant expenditure reporting, and ensures grant reimbursement. Ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversees all finance department activities, which includes developing strategy, budget, and leading process improvement initiatives.

Recruits and hires finance staff and conducts performance evaluations.

Implements training for new hires and identifies training opportunities for current staff.

Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
-
Prepares and closes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensures accurate reporting of financial results and compliance with GAAP and FASB. Prepares an analysis of current and historical financial information identifying trends and aberrations. Presents results to the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors. Ensures monthly reconciliations of accounts as needed.

Actively monitors and manages all bank accounts and cash position, ensuring adequate fund availability for bills and payroll. Maximizes earnings on accounts, keeping the organization's cash needs in mind. Monitors cash position against the board-designated cash requirement. Prepares the monthly reconciliation for the operating account.

Prepares and or oversees grant budgets, grant expenditure reporting and ensures grant reimbursement. Reviews and reads all grant contracts for financial components and ensures accurate and timely reporting.

Leads and prepares the organization for all annual fiscal external audits. Acts as the main point of contact for the auditor. Prepares all necessary data and schedules and provides it to the auditor for tax filings. Leads and performs internal audits as necessary.

Collaborates with Care and Share's leadership team to determine financial needs. Provides financial analysis and strategic direction. Develops and implements financial strategies to meet the organization's goals.

Prepares and files all state, local, and federally required reports to maintain the organization's compliance with charitable, tax-exempt, and business standings.

Monitors and ensures compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures. Implements changes as needed to protect and properly manage the organization's financial resources.

Maintains extensive knowledge of the general ledger system, including inventory and reporting.

Leads and prepares the annual operating and capital budgeting process. Collaborates with and trains department leaders. Prepares a final budget report and presents it to the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors. Ensures annual time studies are completed.
Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:

Advanced with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Ceres) desirable or proficient with another enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.

Experience with Paylocity desirable or proficient with another payroll platform.

Experience with Questica preferred or advanced with another budgeting software.

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree in business administration or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

At least five years of accounting and finance in a senior-level position.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds rarely.
Travel Requirements:

Must have valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and automobile insurance that meets Colorado’s minimum standards.

Occasional travel throughout Southern Colorado is required.

The starting wage range for this position is $115,000 to $130,000 annually.
