Job Title: Chief Financial Officer - DOD

The role in brief:
Venn Plus, an affiliate of The O’Neil Group Company, is seeking a highly strategic and analytical Chief Financial Officer (CFO)-DOD to lead and manage the financial activities across our portfolio of government contracting companies. This individual will be responsible for financial strategy, planning and analysis, financial and tax reporting, audits, compliance, and managing relationships with banks and other financial institutions. The CFO-DOD will work closely with CEOs and executive leadership teams to provide financial insight and influence key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Financial Strategy and Leadership:
Develop and execute the financial strategy to support the overall business objectives of portfolio companies. Act as a trusted advisor to CEOs and executive teams on financial matters.
· Financial Planning and Analysis:
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes. Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
· Financial Reporting:
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports for executive management, board members, and investors. Present findings and financial insights to stakeholders.
· Compliance and Audit:
Maintain a strong internal control environment, ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies, and manage relationships with external auditors. Lead internal and external audit processes, including Defense Contract Audit Agency audits.
· Cash Flow Management:
Manage company cash flow, working capital, and financing activities. Ensure the optimization of liquidity, funding strategies, and risk management.
· Banking and Financial Relationships:
Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors. Negotiate terms and manage company borrowing and investment activities.
· Risk Management:
Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure adequate risk management controls are in place to protect the company’s assets.
· Collaboration and Leadership:
Partner with the CEO and executive team to align financial strategies with business operations and growth initiatives. Lead and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and accountability.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in finance leadership roles, with a track record of success in financial strategy and operations.
- Government contracting experience, specifically in understanding the Federal Acquisition Regulations and various contract vehicles
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance, financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience with audit, compliance, and risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with executive teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and effectively.
- Proven ability to build relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Strong understanding of defense rate buildups and indirect rate pools is a plus.

The CFO-DOD will engage with cross-functional teams and senior leadership, often navigating tight deadlines and high-stakes decision-making. The total compensation for this position at Venn Plus ranges from $220,000 to $380,000 annually, inclusive of base salary, performance-based bonuses, and a 10% ownership stake in the company.
The base pay salary is a calculated industry-based estimate and is what the Venn Plus may pay for anyone seated in this position throughout their tenure at our company. This estimated range of $220,00.00-$380,000 range is based on a number of factors including but not limited to market location, job-related knowledge, education or training, skills, and years and types of experience.
