Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our growing team in the Accounting + Finance industry. The CFO will play a critical role in the financial leadership of our company and will be responsible for the management of company finances. This role is permanent and requires an individual with a strong background in revenue recognition, contract accounting, financial planning & analysis, cash flow management, risk management, internal controls, audits & compliance, and more.
Responsibilities
The CFO will be responsible for the following:
1. Overseeing all financial operations of the company, including the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
2. Directing all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
3. Analyzing the company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.
4. Providing strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
5. Developing and coordinating all relationships with lending/financial institutions.
6. Developing and maintaining all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
7. Assisting senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
8. Coordinating, preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
9. Coordinating and/or preparing tax schedules, returns and information.
10. Managing relationships with insurance providers and ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
11. Overseeing all audit and internal control operations.
12. Preparing detailed reports on financial performance on a regular basis.
13. Coordinating with external auditors and managing internal controls.
14. Ensuring compliance with the law and company’s policies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (MBA preferred).
2. Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CPA).
3. 5+ years of managerial accounting and financial management experience.
4. Experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies.
5. Significant experience in the construction, heavy civil, and infrastructure sectors.
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
7. Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
8. Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
9. Experience in a multi-entity environment.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
