We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join a mission-driven organization based in Fresno, California. This role offers the chance to lead the financial strategy of an organization dedicated to supporting families across the Central Valley. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will ensure financial transparency, compliance, and sustainability while collaborating with diverse teams to drive the mission forward.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the senior financial leader and trusted advisor to the executive team and Board of Directors.
• Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and audits.
• Manage fund accounting for government, grant, and contract funding sources.
• Lead modernization efforts to improve financial systems and technology within the organization.
• Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while collaborating with HR on shared compliance initiatives.
• Partner with department heads to support program growth and maintain fiscal sustainability.
• Develop and mentor a finance/accounting team
• Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, grant providers, and community partners.
• Provide clear and timely financial reporting to the Board of Directors and other key stakeholders.
• Drive strategic financial planning to support long-term organizational goals.

• Minimum of 10 years of senior financial leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
• Expertise in fund accounting, grant management, and compliance with public funding regulations.
• Proven ability to modernize financial systems and processes while honoring organizational culture.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to the Board and other stakeholders.
• Collaborative leadership style with experience working across departments, particularly with HR.
• Demonstrated success in managing diverse funding sources and maintaining financial sustainability.
• Experience mentoring and developing high-performing finance teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA is preferred.
