Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Datacenter Business Operations Program Manager, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. By enabling data center capacity through increased Infrastructure Utilization Effectiveness (IUE) and Power Harvesting (PH), you will lead the retrofit efforts to upgrade legacy datacenters and harvest capacity in our existing fleet.

As a Datacenter Business Operations Program Manager, performance objectives include:
- Accountability for providing program governance, leadership, and direction for all projects at the campus level to ensure projects are planned and executed on budget and schedule.

Supporting the DC Project Manager’s with project estimation, budget management, ROI calculations, formulate project delivery strategies while establishing milestones and schedules.

Maintaining and reporting project status, while monitoring progress, and acting as an escalation point ensuring achievement of intended outcomes.

Supporting the Campus Director with Field Employee communications including townhalls, organizing listening sessions, and local campus level communications.

Liaising with the Data Center Operational Efficiencies team to ensure campus level financial planning and performance reviews are conducted in accordance to the rhythm of business fiscal calendars and objectives.

Supporting the field operations leadership teams to operationalize all strategic initiatives consistently and effectively at the campus level.

Identifying and managing scheduling conflicts working with stakeholders to negotiate implementation dates and schedules across IT, CE, and Facilities teams.

Execute the change management governance process at the Campus/Metro level that ties back to Global and Regional DC Operations Change Management standards.

Manage the daily Change Management functions at the Campus/Metro level including maintaining and documenting change management procedures, stakeholder management, technical and business impact assessment.

Lead the daily Campus/Metro Change Review meetings with local team members and stakeholders.

Monitor to ensure only approved and validated changes are executed.

Identify and manage scheduling conflicts working with stakeholders to negotiate implementation dates and schedules across IT, CE, and Facilities teams.
Required/Minimum Qualifications

High School Qualification or equivalent AND 3+ years experience supporting IT equipment or related technology or delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments

OR equivalent experience.

1+ year of business operations experience in large-scale environments

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications

Bachelor's or Technical College Degree in Business, Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field AND 8+ years experience working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling)

Data Center Operations Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,800 - $195,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $135,200 - $222,000 per year.
