Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Mining Business

Salary Package: ₹1.25L to ₹1.50L per month
Job Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Mining Business is responsible for overseeing the financial health and growth of the division. This role involves developing and executing financial strategies, managing financial reporting, risk management, and optimizing the business's financial performance. The CFO will work closely with senior leadership to align financial planning with business objectives, enhance operational efficiency, and support sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:1. Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis
· Financial Strategy Development: Formulate and execute long-term financial
strategies aligned with the company’s business goals, focusing on profitability and growth.
· Financial Forecasting & Budgeting: Lead the budgeting process, creating financial forecasts based on market trends, production targets, and business objectives.
· Scenario Analysis & Sensitivity Testing: Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity testing for key financial decisions, evaluating potential risks and returns under different market conditions.
2. Financial Reporting & Compliance
· Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, industry standards, and tax requirements, working closely with auditors and regulatory authorities.
· Compliance with International Standards: If applicable, ensure compliance with international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS), particularly if the company operates in multiple jurisdictions.
3. Risk Management & Mitigation
· Risk Assessment & Management: Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including market volatility, operational risks, and credit risks. Develop risk mitigation strategies to protect company assets.
· Foreign Exchange & Commodity Risk Management: Oversee strategies to manage foreign exchange and commodity price risks, particularly if the company engages in international transactions.
· Environmental & Regulatory Risk Analysis: Assess the financial impact of environmental and regulatory risks specific to mining, preparing contingency plans for potential policy changes or environmental incidents.
4. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
· Cash Flow Optimization: Monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity for day-to-day operations, capital expenditures, and strategic investments.
· Working Capital Management: Implement working capital strategies to improve cash conversion cycles, optimize inventory levels, and manage accounts receivable and payable.
· Banking & Financial Relationships: Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors, securing favorable financing terms and ensuring access to capital.
5. Capital Structure & Funding Strategy
· Capital Allocation Planning: Make strategic recommendations for capital allocation, balancing investments in growth projects, debt repayment, and shareholder returns.
· Debt & Equity Financing: Oversee debt and equity financing strategies, including managing existing debt, evaluating refinancing options, and exploring new funding sources.
· Investor Relations & Reporting: Develop and maintain strong relationships with investors, providing transparent financial information and ensuring regular updates on the company’s financial performance and strategic direction.
6. Operational Efficiency & Cost Management
· Cost Control Initiatives: Implement cost control initiatives across operations, identifying areas for efficiency improvements and reducing unnecessary expenditures.
· Production Cost Analysis: Work closely with the operations team to analyze production costs, recommend cost-saving measures, and identify areas where process improvements could enhance profitability.
· Procurement & Supply Chain Financial Support: Collaborate with the procurement team to develop cost-effective sourcing strategies, including negotiating supplier terms and optimizing procurement processes.
7. Data Analytics & Financial Modeling
· Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business scenarios, capital projects, and operational changes, providing insights into potential returns and profitability.
· Data-Driven Decision Support: Leverage data analytics to support decision-making, providing actionable insights on operational performance, revenue trends, and cost drivers.
· Performance Metrics & KPI Tracking: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for financial and operational performance, using metrics to guide strategic initiatives.
8. Governance & Internal Controls
· Internal Controls Implementation: Design, implement, and oversee robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets, reduce fraud risk, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
· Audit & Risk Committee Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison for the Audit and Risk Committee, providing updates on financial performance, compliance, and risk management practices.
· Corporate Governance Compliance: Ensure adherence to corporate governance best practices, aligning financial policies with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
9. Digital Transformation & Technology Integration
· ERP System Optimization: Oversee the integration and optimization of ERP systems to streamline financial processes, enhance reporting accuracy, and improve data management.
· Automation of Financial Processes: Explore opportunities to automate routine financial processes, such as accounts payable/receivable and payroll, to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
· Adoption of Analytics & Forecasting Tools: Implement advanced analytics and forecasting tools, such as AI-driven forecasting, to improve the accuracy of financial predictions.
10. Stakeholder Communication & Executive Support
· Board Reporting & Presentations: Prepare and present financial updates, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors and senior management.
· Strategic Advisory Role: Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team, offering financial insights to support strategic planning and business development.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions.
11. Sustainability & Environmental Financial Management
· Environmental Financial Planning: Assess the financial implications of environmental projects, such as waste reduction, renewable energy use, or carbon footprint initiatives.
· Sustainable Finance Initiatives: Explore sustainable finance options, such as green bonds or carbon credits, to support environmentally friendly projects and align with industry best practices.
· Impact Measurement: Monitor and report the financial impact of sustainability initiatives on overall company performance, demonstrating alignment with corporate social responsibility goals.
12. Leadership & Team Development
· Finance Team Management: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high- performance culture and encouraging continuous learning and development.
· Skill Development & Training: Identify training needs within the finance department, implementing development programs to enhance technical and analytical skills.
· Succession Planning: Develop a succession plan for key finance roles, ensuring continuity of leadership and maintaining team stability.
Qualifications:
· Educational Background: Chartered Accountant (CA) or a related field. MBA in Finance or CPA qualification may be considered for deserving candidates.
· Experience: Minimum of 15+ years in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within the mining or industrial sector.
