Our client is a fast-growing company (35 mil € revenues) within a multinational Group operating in the FMCG sector. We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance function, reporting directly to the local CEO and functionally to the Group CFO. The role's objective is to align and enhance the function’s performance with group policies while strategically managing financial data to support business needs.
Objectives and Purpose:
- Ensure the proper administrative management of the Company, particularly by guaranteeing the analysis and evaluation of the consistency of management events to obtain reliable financial data;
- Define budgetary policies and ensure the preparation of the Company’s corporate financial statements (including the consolidated financial statements) and related annexes in compliance with civil and tax regulations;
- Define processing criteria and control the Company’s reporting system in alignment with the Corporate Finance & Administration Department;
- Define criteria and oversee the budgeting system of the Company in alignment with the Corporate Finance & Administration Department;
- Develop financial management decisions for the Company in accordance with policies established by the Corporate Finance & Administration Department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Establishes strategic administrative policies and supervises various areas of responsibility, formulating the corresponding budget;
- Determines, in collaboration with the CEO, the Corporate Finance & Administration Director, and external consultants, the timing for financial statement preparation and ensures adherence to planning;
- Ensures the preparation of corporate and consolidated financial statements for the Company;
- Ensures compliance with legislative updates within relevant areas;
- Manages all tax and administrative obligations in compliance with legal deadlines, overseeing activities such as VAT refund requests, accounting records, preparation of financial statements, periodic audits, etc;
- Provides tax and administrative consulting across all company areas and manages relationships with external consulting firms and auditing companies;
- Supports and coordinates financial statement audits, both corporate and consolidated;
- Supports, in coordination with the Corporate Finance & Administration Department, the consolidation of the Company’s financials within the Group’s consolidated financial statements;
- Defines, implements, and aligns the Company’s reporting methodologies, ensuring consistency and homogeneity of collected data in alignment with the Corporate Finance & Administration Department;
- Maintains and develops reporting structures (detail levels, information aggregation methods, deadlines) in alignment with the Company’s managerial needs and corporate framework;
- Develops and implements IT systems to support information collection and systematization in collaboration with the Corporate IT Department;
- Works with the corporate finance function to coordinate shared information for report preparation;
- Conducts analyses for the Company BU, formalizing results in the required reporting format;
- Prepares monthly reports analyzing revenue, investments, and production statistics for the Company (regions, product families, customers);
- Compiles the quarterly consolidated financial statements of the Company, ensuring quality, timeliness, and confidentiality;
- Implements and maintains the Company’s budgeting process, ensuring the development of operational budgets.
Additionally:
- Defines the technical structure of the income statement in accordance with the financial planning system;
- Works with the Corporate Finance Department on financial and foreign exchange planning, providing both forecast and actualdata;
- Analyzes local conditions to standardize procedures and ensure adequate IT support for both local and central needs, improving the budgeting process;
- Monitors monthly reports and analyzes content to identify discrepancies;
- Ensures proper cost allocation to cost centers and updates relevant documentation;
- Coordinates support and verification of peripheral operational cycles;
- Manages the "industrial accounting" framework to monitor production efficiencies and unit product costs;
- Secures financing and negotiates agreements with financial institutions for the Company, ensuring alignment with strategic guide lines;
- Evaluates and proposes financial institutions for collaboration;
- Defines, with senior management of financial institutions, strategies for opening credit lines, planning business volumes, and setting application standards;
- Plans medium-term financial interventions for specific capital and/or production investments, finalizing agreements with financial institutions and coordinating the related administrative process;
- Optimizes liquidity management.
In Particular:
- Systematically collects financial and currency-related information;
- Defines and agrees on action plans with financial institutions for liquidity management;
- Assists the CEO of the Company and the Corporate Finance & Administration Department by providing technical insights and contributing to financial strategy development;
- Prepares financial reports to provide the CEO and the Corporate Finance & Administration Department with necessary insights into financial performance;
- Provides financial consulting to the Company’s corporate functions.
Specifically:
- Maintains relationships with all Group companies, providing strategic policy input and technical support;
- Defines client credit limits;
- Researches and provides relevant financial, regulatory, and market trend information to Company functions;
- Oversees the execution of powers of attorney in third-party relationship management, including legal aspects;
- Conducts training and mentoring for new hires and/or assigned personnel, supporting their professional development.
Requirements:
- 8+ years in a similar role, gained both in multinational structured corporations and in PMI, operating in the FMCG field;
- Master's Degree in Economics, preferred MBA;
- Proven track record in financial leadership within a multinational company;
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail;
- Process-oriented mindset with a focus on results, especially in a matrix environment;
- Ability to define, implement, and monitor policies and procedures that drive efficiency and
- compliance;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
