Description
We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a CFO - Chief Financial Officer in the Syracuse, New York area. As a CFO, you will be tasked with managing financial reporting, auditing, and treasury functions, among other responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct heavy audit preparations and support
- Oversee the management of fixed assets and depreciation
- Compile and present financial reporting and modeling
- Carry out review of financial reconciliations
- Manage treasury functions, particularly liquidity
- Review and improve financial processes and efficiencies
- Leverage knowledge of accounting software systems for effective financial management
- Execute accounting functions and budget processes
- Handle capital management and cash flow analysis
- Supervise the addition and depreciation of fixed assets
- Coordinate activities with the Treasury Department.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably within the non-profit sector.
- Significant experience in or knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.
- Proficiency in using advanced accounting software systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions and procedures.
- Proven experience in auditing, including planning, reporting and managing audit processes.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in managing budget processes, including planning, development, and analysis.
- Strong expertise in capital management, including capital budgeting, investment, and financing decisions.
- Proficient in cash flow analysis, understanding the total amount of money being transferred into and out of a business.
- Experience in managing fixed asset additions and ensuring they are correctly classified.
- Familiarity with fixed asset depreciation, including calculating and recording depreciation expenses.
- Understanding of various depreciation methods and ability to prepare depreciation schedules.
- Experience in managing treasury department functions, including cash management, risk management, and corporate finance.
