Position Overview
Our client is seeking a dynamic and strategically minded Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual with a background as an investment banker who is looking to pivot into a purpose-driven career, leveraging skills in financial strategy, analysis, and management to make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
As CFO, you will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for leading financial operations, long-term sustainability planning, and aligning resources with the organization's mission and vision.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the organization’s financial strategy to ensure the sustainability of its programs and initiatives
- Financial Operations Oversight: Direct all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and reporting.
- Investment Management: Lead and oversee management of endowments, grants, and other funds; ensure financial investments align with mission-driven goals while maintaining risk mitigation strategies.
- Partnership Building: Collaborate with program leaders, funders, and the Board of Directors to support organizational growth and build financial resilience.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff. Build a high-performing team committed to advancing the organization's mission.
- Fundraising & Grants Management Support: Partner with Development teams to analyze revenue generation and support grant proposals/management strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- Demonstrated accomplishments as an investment banker, financial strategist, or leader in related fields.
- Passion for transitioning into the nonprofit sector and a deep commitment to mission-driven work.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across diverse teams, including staff and Board members.
