This role will oversee the financial operations, manage accounting records, and lead the financial reporting and budgeting processes. You will play a critical role in financial decision-making, providing strategic financial input to senior management while overseeing the overall accounting processes, tax functions, and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, report variances, and prepare financial reporting.
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting by developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies.
- Manage and maintain cash forecast, advising CEO on cash management strategies and managing company cash flow.
- Participate in company product and customer pricing discussions and decisions. Develop expertise in utilizing existing tools and creating new analytics to identify opportunities to improve profits and cost efficiencies.
- Heavy emphasis on analytical and data driven decision making skills.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures.
- Provide leadership and support to accounts receivable and accounts payable departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 8+ years of accounting and financial management experience.
- Previous experience as a CFO or Controller, preferably in the distribution or manufacturing industries.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with corporate governance and financial risk management.
- Strong leadership skills and experience with team management.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
