Job Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Sales Operations Specialist to lead forecasting and demand planning efforts for SMACKIN’. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven forecasting models, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring alignment between Sales, Operations and the retail market. The ideal candidate will have expertise in demand planning methodologies, supply chain coordination, and process standardization to enhance operational efficiency and cost savings.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Relationship Management
- Lead sales efforts within a segment of the Grocery Store channel, building strong relationships with key decision-makers.
- Track category performance, identify opportunities to optimize product performance, and analyze sales data, assortment gaps, and market trends to drive results.
- Master retailer systems, processes, and portals to streamline operations.
- Oversee promotional planning, coordinate funding, and ensure successful execution.
- Develop scalable best practices to drive efficiency and long-term growth in the Grocery channel.
Demand Forecasting & Planning
- Develop and implement advanced forecasting models using historical data, market trends, and real-time analytics.
- Analyze sales patterns, seasonal fluctuations, and promotional impacts to improve forecast accuracy.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to align forecasts with business goals.
- Continuously refine forecasting methodologies based on performance tracking and industry trends.
Production & Operations Coordination
- Develop capacity planning models aligned with demand projections.
- Develop and Define Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
- Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.
- Enhance real-time data tracking and forecasting tools.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Serve as the liaison between sales, marketing, operations, and finance.
- Train teams on forecasting methodologies and best practices.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement in demand planning and supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of experience- Bachelor’s Degree - in Supply Chain Management, category management, or retail strategy or manufacturer, supporting Grocery/Mass retail.
- Based in Minneapolis – In office M/W/F
- Proven track record of driving results, with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in forecasting software, ERP/MRP systems, and data visualization tools.
- Exceptional multitasking skills; able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
