Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer will oversee all aspects of financial management, including general accounting, accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, regulatory and tax, forecast preparation, banking and risk management. They will be responsible for establishing and executing the company's financial strategy to support growth, profitability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual audited financial statements. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable financial regulations.
Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's mission and growth goals. Ensure fiscal responsibility and long-term sustainability.
Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with colleagues across various departments. Partner with the executive leadership team to implement the financial strategic plan. Provide financial analytics and insights to support critical business decisions and initiatives.
Treasury & Cash Flow: Optimize cash flow to ensure operational efficiency and smooth scaling. Develop and manage banking relationships to secure credit facilities and other banking resources to support the company’s financial strategy.
Regulatory & Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax jurisdictions. Develop and maintain a comprehensive tax efficiency program. Oversee the preparation of tax estimates and tax return support.
Insurance & Risk Management: Identify insurable risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Oversee the structure and purchase of company insurance policies, including property, inland marine, liability, workers compensation and other relevant coverages.
Partnership Development: Cultivate relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to drive strategic partnerships and business opportunities.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role.
Financial Expertise: Deep understanding of accounting principles, treasury, forecasting, and strong analytical skills.
Risk & Compliance Knowledge: Solid understanding of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and risk management.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Decision-Making: Sound judgment and decision-making skills, based on thorough analysis and consideration of risks and opportunities.
Education: A degree in Finance or Accounting required. MBA preferred.
Certifications: CPA or similar certifications are a strongly preferred.
