Position Overview
A leading healthcare nonprofit in Hawaii is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee financial strategy, compliance, and operations for a multi-location nonprofit healthcare organization. This role is ideal for a seasoned finance executive with deep expertise in nonprofit healthcare accounting, grants management, and financial audits. The CFO will play a key role in driving financial sustainability, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and optimizing revenue cycle processes while supporting the organization’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality healthcare to the community.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial strategy, budgeting, and forecasting to support long-term sustainability.
- Oversee all financial reporting, audits, and compliance with GAAP, HRSA, Medicaid/Medicare, and grant funding requirements.
- Manage a complex grants portfolio, ensuring proper allocation and regulatory adherence.
- Optimize revenue cycle management, including reimbursement processes from government programs and private insurers.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, Board of Directors, and leadership team.
- Supervise and develop the finance, accounting, and billing teams.
Skills
- FQHC and nonprofit financial management (including grant accounting and compliance).
- GAAP accounting, financial reporting, and audits.
- Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and HRSA compliance.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Revenue cycle optimization and financial strategy development.
- Leadership and team development in a healthcare finance setting.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive financial management experience.
- 5+ years in an FQHC, nonprofit, or healthcare finance leadership role.
- Strong background in federal and state grant management, audits, and compliance.
- Experience leading financial strategy, reporting, and board presentations.
- Bachelor's degree required; CPA, CMA, or Master’s in Accounting/Finance preferred.
