We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of a mission-driven non-profit organization in Canton, OH. In this pivotal role, you will provide financial leadership, ensuring sound fiscal management, long-term sustainability, and compliance with non-profit regulations. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned financial executive with a passion for non-profit work, a collaborative leadership style, and a track record of successfully managing complex financial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
- Develop and monitor key financial performance metrics to inform decision-making and long-term planning.
- Manage cash flow, investments, and reserves, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements, including those related to tax-exempt status, grants, and donations.
- Lead the audit process, working closely with external auditors and ensuring timely, accurate filings.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and the board of directors to provide strategic financial insights, support fundraising efforts, and ensure financial accountability.
- Supervise the finance team, ensuring effective training, development, and team collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in financial leadership roles, preferably in a non-profit environment.
- Strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles, including fund accounting, grants, and tax-exempt regulations.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day financial operations.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
Location & Compensation:
- On-site position in Canton, OH (required every day).
- Salary range: Up to $140,000, depending on experience.
