Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee the financial strategy, corporate operations, and day-to-day functions of our multi-family apartment business. The CFO will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, capital structuring, and operational efficiencies across our multi-state portfolio. This role requires a deep understanding of multi-family real estate finance, asset management, and regulatory compliance, along with the ability to manage a full corporate office with multiple employees. Experience with USDA Rural Development programs is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the corporate office, overseeing all financial, operational, and administrative functions.
• Develop and oversee financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Manage cash flow, financial planning, and risk management for a multi-state real estate portfolio.
• Direct day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring efficiency across all departments.
• Lead financial operations, including accounting, tax planning, and regulatory compliance.
• Optimize capital structures, financing options, and investor relations.
• Work closely with property management teams to enhance operational efficiencies and profitability.
• Identify and implement financial technology solutions to streamline reporting and operations.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal real estate finance regulations.
• Oversee internal and external audits.
• Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
• Minimum 10+ years of financial leadership experience, preferably in real estate or multi-family housing.
• Experience managing a corporate office with multiple employees.
• Strong knowledge of real estate financial modeling, asset management, and capital markets.
• Experience with multi-state tax structures and real estate compliance.
• Proven ability to manage investor relations and financial reporting for stakeholders.
• Proficiency in real estate accounting software and financial management tools.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with USDA Rural Development programs is a plus.
