Position Overview
We are a rapidly growing, multi-state private equity holding company operating several distinct brands within the home services industry. We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations through an aggressive growth and acquisition lifecycle.
This position is strictly remote, but candidates must reside within the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex to facilitate regular travel and regional alignment.
This role balances high-level board presentations and M&A execution with direct, tactical oversight. As CFO, you will directly manage a lean corporate finance team while providing indirect leadership and structural governance to the local accounting teams at our multi-state operating companies.
Key Responsibilities
M&A and Multi-State Expansion
- Lead financial due diligence, integration, and scaling strategies for ongoing multi-state acquisitions.
- Model complex financial scenarios to identify cost synergies and evaluate regional market opportunities.
- Travel 5 to 6 days a month to visit regional operating companies, evaluate field operations, and lead local integrations.
Board Relations and Governance
- Attend all Board of Directors meetings as a core, participating executive leadership member.
- Prepare and present comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages to private equity board members.
- Translate complex operational and financial data into actionable, high-level strategic insights for institutional investors.
Financial Reporting, Audit, and Control
- Own consolidated financial reporting for the holding company and its multi-state operating subsidiaries.
- Direct and manage the annual external audit process, serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance across multiple state tax jurisdictions.
- Standardize financial reporting metrics, KPIs, and robust internal controls across all decentralized operating companies.
- Ensure strict corporate compliance with multi-state tax laws, labor regulations, and GAAP accounting rules.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Directly manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing corporate accounting and finance staff.
- Partner with and provide indirect governance to controllers and local finance teams at individual operating companies.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with an absolute minimum of 3 years as a CFO or VP of Finance.
- Direct experience in private equity or a PE-backed corporate environment. Experience in multi-unit or multi-state home services (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing) is highly preferred.
- Proven, hands-on experience successfully executing, financing, and integrating mid-market acquisitions.
- Extensive experience presenting directly to a Board of Directors or institutional private equity investors.
- Must live in the DFW area and be willing to travel overnight 5–6 days per month.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. Active CPA license or an MBA is strongly preferred.

Pay: $180,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
