Axon Moore is partnering with a successful, privately owned business operating in the creative sector to appoint a commercially focused Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer.
The company partners with a diverse portfolio of UK and international clients, delivering strategic, creative and digital solutions across a range of industries. Following a sustained period of growth, the business is entering an exciting new phase, with ambitious plans to significantly increase revenue and profitability over the coming years.
This is a pivotal leadership appointment, working closely with the CEO, Board and Senior Leadership Team to help shape the future direction of the business. More than a traditional finance role, this opportunity requires a commercially minded leader who can translate strategic ambition into operational delivery, bringing greater financial visibility, commercial discipline and performance insight across the organisation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in improving profitability, supporting better commercial decision making and building the financial infrastructure required to scale the business and maximise long term value.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the CEO and senior leadership team to drive commercial performance and strategic decision making.
- Leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting, providing meaningful insight across the business.
- Improving financial visibility, forecasting accuracy and performance reporting.
- Strengthening margin management, resource utilisation and operational performance.
- Identifying opportunities to improve profitability and commercial performance.
- Developing financial systems, controls and processes to support sustainable growth.
- Supporting strategic investment initiatives and potential corporate activity.
- Building greater commercial awareness and financial accountability across the wider business.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Finance Director, CFO or senior commercial finance leader with Board level experience.
- A strong track record of improving commercial performance and profitability.
- Experience in a people-led business, such as marketing, communications, digital services, consultancy, technology or professional services.
- Strong understanding of commercial drivers including utilisation, pricing, margin management, forecasting and cash flow.
- Experience supporting businesses through periods of growth and transformation.
- Exposure to investment, acquisitions or other strategic transactions would be advantageous.
- A collaborative leadership style with the confidence to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
