About The Team
The Publisher Operations team works on driving day-to-day operations, process improvements, automation and reporting across all business lines at smallcase.
We collaborate closely with Business, Product, Customer Experience (CX), and Compliance teams by sharing relevant reports that capture on-ground issues and process gaps, helping drive informed decisions and continuous improvements across the board.
About The Role
As an Assistant Manager – Business Operations, you will take ownership of complex workflows, lead cross-functional problem-solving, and build scalable processes that drive operational excellence across business lines.
You will also leverage AI-enabled tools and automation to improve operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and decision-making.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and manage processes for a complex operational ecosystem
- Contribute to product development by providing insights based on day-to-day operations and process observations
- Extract and interpret data to identify trends and support informed decision-making
- Leverage AI tools and automation platforms to streamline workflows, improve productivity, and enhance reporting processes
- Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Business, Engineering, Compliance, Customer Support) and external stakeholders to resolve blockers efficiently
- Identify operational issues, analyze root causes, and propose scalable, data-driven solutions
- Work closely with external partners to ensure smooth operations, resolve issues, and maintain high-quality service standards
- Maintain daily/weekly/monthly trackers and reports to capture on-ground activities, monitor performance metrics, and provide visibility to relevant stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for operational automation and process optimization using AI assisted workflows and analytics tools
What We Look For In You
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in business operations, process management, or related roles
- Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results in complex and fast-paced environments
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting
- Ability to write and work with queries for deeper data extraction and operational insights
- Familiarity with AI productivity tools, workflow automation platforms, or AI-assisted operational processes is a strong plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships
- Prior hands-on experience managing operations and processes at a fintech startup is a strong advantage
